In Memory of Bob Barbour

Robert E. Barbour, 65, of Biglerville, died Saturday, November 22, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born April 29, 1943, in Gettysburg, a son of the late Russell H. and Olive E. Phillips Barbour.
He was a graduate of Biglerville High School in the class of 1962.
He was a fruit farmer his entire life; owned and operated Barbour’s Fruit Market, 4045 Chambersburg Road, Biglerville, for 25 years; and also was a retired fleet driver for the former C. H. Musselman Co., now Knouse Foods Co-op., Inc., for 45 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Biglerville, and was a former teacher of the nursery school class for a number of years.


He was a life member of the Biglerville Fire Co., Adams Co. Fruit Growers Assoc., State Horticultural Assoc. of Pa., Buchanan Valley Rod & Gun Club, Adams Co. Fish & Game Assoc., Biglerville American Legion Post 262, He was a former member of Gettysburg Eagles 1562, life member of Biglerville Historical Society, and Camp Eighteen Hunting Club. His was a former member of the Upper Adams Lions Club and South Mountain Fair Board.

He is survived by his wife, T. Ann Kuykendall Barbour, to whom he was married for 45 years; two daughters, Linda Barbour and fiancé Kevin Becker, and Donna McCauslin and husband Wayne, all of Biglerville; four grandchildren, Lee Welty and wife Stephanie, Jessica Nelson and husband Josh, Robbie McCauslin and Katie McCauslin; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Nelson, Alec Kendall and Lexie Kendall.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William J. and Golda C. McCans Barbour.

Funeral services were be held Wednesday, November 26, from St. Paul Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin St., Biglerville, with the Rev. Paul F. Warnke and the Rev. Eugene H. Moore officiating.  Interment was in Biglerville Cemetery.

A viewing was held on Tuesday, November 25, in St. Paul Lutheran Church, from 6 to 9 p.m., and also on Wednesday, November 26, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin St., Biglerville, or to the Biglerville Fire Co., 111 South Main St., Biglerville, PA 17307.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Becker, Jeff Bowling, Gary Diveley, Robbie McCauslin, Wayne McCauslin, Josh Nelson, William Slaybaugh and Lee Welty. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert MacBeth, Rodolfo Padilla, Barry Rice, Winn Schulteis and Scott Slaybaugh.
